On June 6, Factory Two, in collaboration with Brady Gasser, a local rapper, producer and DJ, hosted the Vehicle City Record Show with multiple vendors from around the state, including locals like Totem Books and The Burton Beat, selling records, CDs, cassette tapes and collectibles.
Gasser said he organized the event out of his appreciation for music, physical media and bringing people together.
“This event is important because it gives music lovers and collectors in the Flint and Genesee County area a chance to treasure hunt and socialize with other like-minded people,” Gozza said. “It’s important to have positive events for residents that [are free]. It’s crucial we teach the youth about all the amazing music out there.”
Collin McFatridge, a vendor at the event, said events like this are a good way to get the community involved and a way for people to connect with each other over a shared interest.
“If you don’t like music, you’re not alive. Any song can make you feel any range of emotions,” McFatridge said. “Five people can hear the same song and have five different meanings, five different memories and five different feelings. It’s the great unifier.”
