On Saturday, May 30, the Flint City Bucks faced off against the Kalamazoo Football Club for their first home game of the season at Atwood Stadium in downtown Flint. The final score was 7-0, Flint City Bucks.
No.20 Sean Albritton scored the first goal of the game for the Flint City Bucks, assisted by fielder No.18 Ollie Moller-Jensen at the 17-minute mark.
The second goal followed immediately after in the 19th minute, scored by No.10 Dominic Ayella, with the assist from No.23 Jack Roman.
The Flint City Bucks defense allowed no goals for Kalamazoo FC in the first 45 minutes of play. The Flint City Bucks opened up the second half with a goal in the 50th minute, scored by No.28 Ollie Moller-Jensen.
They tacked on another goal in the 54th minute, scored by Albritton, with the assist from Ayella.
Ayella would follow this by scoring his own goal in the 58th minute, making the score 5-0.
After a few defensive substitutions, swapping out Ayella for No.26 Richie Ludwig, the 6th goal was scored by Ludwig in the 79th minute.
A corner kick scored the 7th and final goal of the game in the 85th minute. The goal was scored by No.29 Lazzar Ramos.
The Kalamazoo FC lost 7-0 to the Flint City Bucks.
The Bucks enter their 30th season looking to reach their 7th consecutive postseason in the process. In 2025, the Flint City Bucks had a 15-5-0 record. The Bucks have had 26 total playoff appearances in 29 chances, and have not had a losing season since their founding in 1996.
Their 12-game regular season contains key matches against Association Football Club Ann Arbor, Detroit Metro Football Club and Midwest United Football Club. Paul Doroh continues to coach the Flint City Bucks, heading into his 6th season as head coach. Nick Deren and Mali Walton also return as assistant coaches for the team.
One of their more notable players, Donovan “Gusto” Philip, their top goal scorer in 2026 and the recipient of the Golden Boot award in 2025, was missing from the lineup this year after signing a contract with the Colorado Rapids to play Major League Soccer.
Players to keep an eye on include Albritton, who had 7 goals and 7 assists in 11 games playing for the Dallas Texans U-16 team, and Ayella, who scored 24 goals in 15 games at Lindsey Wilson University.
